Plans to seize GoPro footage of a spacewalk on the International Space Station on Wednesday have been foiled when the astronaut making the trek ended up with an error message on the digital camera as a result of he forgot his reminiscence card.

The astronaut was floating exterior the ISS and was prepared to begin filming when “no SD” flashed on the digital camera display.

In order to determine the issue, the flight engineer obtained in touch with mission management.

“Hey Houston, I got a question about the GoPro real quick,” the transmission begins.

Houston responds, telling the engineer to proceed along with his query.

“I see a no — I’m pushing the button — I see a ‘no SD,’ that means, do I need that to record? And if it’s recording, is there supposed to be a red light on,” the engineer asks.

The SD card is required so as to have the ability to save the footage on the digital camera.

The humourous change continues with Houston relaying details about the digital camera’s operation.

“The GoPro, I’m told that if it had the card in it, it should have a red light if it’s recording,” mission management says.

When the astronaut asks what to do if the digital camera says “no SD,” Houston responds saying they suppose it means no card however says they’ll verify to substantiate.

After a number of extra seconds the astronaut lastly admits defeat.

“Well, we can put this one back in the pack, I guess,” he says.

Houston agrees with the choice, as he says he’ll get the cardboard later or “just not worry about it.”

The spacewalk was executed by Expedition 55 flight engineers Drew Feustel and Ricky Arnold, who have been on the primary of two spacewalks to improve the house station’s cooling system {hardware} and set up up to date communications tools.
