#FRAPoli: François-Xavier Bellamy: “We are tired of slogans” – #FrancePolitics #FRPoli

François-Xavier Bellamy, MEP and member of the Republicans’ strategic council was the guest of France Info.

He lamented the government’s lack of direction: “I have a feeling that the course is not clear”. We do not believe in a radical change in position of the President of the Republic: “It’s been 3 years that the President of the Republic has not stopped promising new things. We are tired of slogans and we want changes in reality. ”

As a major economic crisis approaches, the government must respond. Indeed, “we are in a fictitious economic situation. During the confinement, millions of French people had to be put on partial unemployment. We are borrowing from future generations. ”

The MEP also talks about the limits of the European Union’s recovery plan. For him, a revival and a European strategy are necessary. The current recovery plan is based on a European loan. However, “this aid is relatively anecdotal. We do not know how this loan will be repaid. The European Commission is also likely to want to strengthen its budgetary control over borrowing countries ”.

François Xavier Bellamy observes Emmanuel Macron’s dramatic record on sovereign issues. There is a lack of state authority. The President of the Republic should have reiterated that “attacking the police should never be a trivial act. We must end the feeling of impunity. ” On the contrary, the head of state only increases suspicion towards the police. The MEP recalls that “there is no democratic life possible if the police and the gendarmerie cannot do their job properly and are permanently placed in the position of accused”.
